Contemporary South African townships demonstrate a great disparity between reality and policy. This project sought to investigate and document the dynamic life of the street in these contexts centered on enterprise and socialisation. Through a series of studies, the investigation illustrated the complex interdependencies between various forms of enterprise and the role of infrastructure (or lack thereof) in enabling street life.
