GERMAN SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN

JOHANNESBURG

2013

In response to increased intake for pre-school learners, the proposal sought to create an extension that works with landscape as a playful device through which kids can simultaneously play and learn. Orientated towards the garden and providing a security edge for the young learners, a playful and bold building is proposed in the form of a suspended tree house. This device allows for additional learning space whilst not compromising the limited open space of the school. A system of interconnected courtyards is proposed for future growth creating a safe and secure space for learners to roam their worlds with freedom and lightness.
