BRITISH COUNCIL RESIDENCY

LONDON, UK

In collaboration with Natasha Reid Design

2014

Coupled with Natasha Reid Design, a local British practice, the 2nd International Architecture residency program sought to explore the role of émigré architects in Britain. An East London industrial site formed the basis for speculations through which ideologies of the urgent, apparently chaotic and intense land uses present in South Africa are brought into the juxtaposition with London spatial logic. The proposal centered on the rights of inhabitants and their ability to influence the future of their environment through accessible tools and resources such as micro industry, cranes, industrial process and alternative land tenureship.
