April 2009 (Un-built)
The project presents an audacious experiment in designing a home for a unique family arrangement. Together with his new partner, previous partner and their three children, the client requires a home with an unusual spatial arrangement – to enable their unusual family make-up. The proposed collections of spaces attempt to negotiate the various fundamental family relationships, allowing each member to articulate their space to their own needs. Using adapted steel sheds and the north-aspect sloping site; the house is conceived as three separate dwellings for the three families conditions. Mediated by a courtyard, each house can be independently accessed or collectively used.
